A variant is a kind of product that comes from the one model and has unique options or attributes. Variants are very helpful when selling clothes or shoes — such products have more than one option, for example, size and color.
In MyStore, each variant is a separate unit and has an SKU to track its stock level.
All variants created for a product are displayed in the Variants section of the product card. You can manage variants when you add a new product card or edit an existing one. Once you save variant’s options and values for one product, they become available for any other product in your catalog. That simplifies assigning variants to other products and reduces mistakes when managing variants.
Initial creating
- Open a product card.
- In the Variants section, click Add Variants.
- In the opened window, select an attribute from the drop-down list. If there is no appropriate attribute, enter a name for your own.
- Specify values that differ a variant from one another. Each attribute must have at least one value.
- If you want to add more attributes for a product, click +Feature.
- Fill values for each attribute you added.
- Click Create variants.
During the first creating, you can manage a limited number of variant settings. All settings are available during further editing: you can specify additional attributes for some variants, set unique sale prices, add unique images and barcodes for each variant.
Further editing
- Open a product card.
- In the Variants section, select an existing variant or click +Variant.
- In the opened window, do the following:
- If you want to customize the variant with an additional attribute, click +Characteristic and fill its values.
- If you want to set unique sale prices for the variant, click Set up. Learn more
- If you want to add unique images, click +Image. Learn more
- If you keep these settings untouched, MyStore uses product settings as default for this variant.
- Click Save.
